This typewriter was a present from my family and I love it. I’ve kept the same bit of paper in the typewriter from the time I got it, so when people visit they end up typing a little on it every time. This I have scanned in and added to my final piece.
A country bumpkin is not built for the city environment, and never will be. Solitude is needed to escape from the rat race and feel like the individual can pull through and feel like if no where else inside his mind is the place where he feels most comfortable.
In physics, the term ionisation refers to the process of conversion from an atom into an ion, that is, when an imbalance of the atom’s electric charge takes place as particles (such as electrons) are added or removed from the original structure. This phenomenon can lead to a positively or negatively charged ion being produced. In the instance of a positive ion, an electron absorbs a surplus of energy, which triggers its release from the bond generated by the original atomic structure. The bond being broken, the electron escapes and becomes free to move away from the structure. This artwork explores and attempts to visually capture the notion of particles freeing themselves or escaping from their atomic bonds, therefore moving autonomously in a grid system, generating a duality between the idea of order / structure and disorder / chaos.
